Nancy Cann - President
Nancy started Crusader Yacht Sales in 1982. She has been boating for over 40 years, lived aboard a sailboat for 10 years, and has sailed in many beautiful places around the world. She also enjoys offshore and coastal fishing and has fished in a long list of exotic places. Her original fish paintings grace the office.
When elected the President of Yacht Brokers Association of America (YBAA), she became its first woman officer in its 75 year history. She has been extremely active in this national trade organization, which advocates high ethical standards and professionalism within the industry, and was voted “National Broker of the Year” in 1996.
She is well known for her professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine friendliness – all of which help set the stage for a pleasant experience at Crusader Yachts.
Testimonials
“Through good times and bad, for almost 30 years Nancy Cann and Crusader Yacht Sales have been a fixture in Annapolis and the marine industry. In a business where brokers tend to come and go, this longevity is testimony to the high level of service provided by Nancy and her crew. Terrie and I certainly appreciated the help and attention we got when we were selling our Pacific Seacraft, ‘Nada’. As we enter another tough period for the industry, a proven record such as Nancy’s is ever more important to both boat buyers and sellers.” - Nigel Calder
“The Seven Seas Cruising Association has been enjoying the generous support of CYS for some years now, and we genuinely appreciate all your efforts. You have been one of the major sponsors of our SSCA Annapolis Gam, a social gathering of hundreds of cruisers each fall, contributing auction items and door prizes and staffing a vendor table as well as purchasing advertising in our Gam programs. CYS President Nancy Cann has also helped us promote our seamanship workshop series with Nigel Calder and meteorologist Lee Chesneau. And SSCA Members who buy a boat through CYS receive a $200 gift certificate. It is support from marine businesses like yours that our Members genuinely value.” - Nancy Zapf, Vice President SSCA Board of Directors
“The Department of Natural Resources wishes to express appreciation for your excellent business ethics and the goodwill you have extended not only to your customers but also to the employees of the Department.” - David VanDyke, Administrative Services
“Nancy Cann has been a supporter of the Marine Trades Association of Maryland since she opened her business. For a trade association like MTAM, she is the best kind of member. Through her membership, she seeks ways of giving back to the industry where she is making a living. She has served on the Maryland Boat Dealer Advisory Committee to the Department of Natural Resources, has sponsored the Annapolis Safety at Sea Seminar annually and has been an excellent spokesperson for MTAM at bill hearings where a boat broker’s expertise is needed. Associations like MTAM are so grateful for this kind of support that is present in difficult as well as prosperous times.” - Susan Zellers, Executive Director, Marine Trades Association of Maryland
