Annapolitan’s  Ken Henry and Heidi Rothenhaus , owners  of the 34 Legacy (division of Freedom Yachts) have been working over the winter with naval architect Marc Ellis and local Yanmar and specialist Jeff Leitch on re-powering “Dandelion” to achieve more speed and reliability. Pictured is Bay Shore mechanic Shawn putting a tweak on the wheel which was recently coated with Prop Speed as was the rudder. This is a relatively new product that serves to keep these metals free of antifouling and what a difference that makes in performance!

Ken and Heidi are going into their third season with the Legacy and report that the transition from sail to power has been a smooth one. They look forward to having a little more speed in reserve for outrunning thunderstorms, catching a scheduled bridge, or just getting in on time Sunday afternoon.
