Severna Park family returns from sailing around the world on their Hans Christian 43
Scott Taylor, CPYB, had the pleasure of working with the Crafton family in 2002. His charge was to assist them in the purchase of a durable and safe cruising cutter that would accommodate a family of five. After numerous boat evaluations and shopping around, they settled on a 43’ Hans Christian, rigged as a ketch. After the survey and seatrial process the boat was deemed appropriate for the Crafton’s adventure. Little did I know that they would be circumnavigating; the Crafton’s are “low-key” in that regard not having completely shared their aspirations with me. You can imagine his surprise and pleasure when he started receiving emails from exotic ports around the world!
Through persistence and remarkable cooperation, “Nueva Vida” is returned to the Chesapeake within 12 miles of their point of purchase.
You may have seen them on National TV recently. Click on photo to see more.
