"...the best of both worlds."

It is often said in discussions of yacht design that comfortable cruising accommodations and "sailing-performance" are mutually exclusive concepts - that both are "not achievable in the same boat."

The Nautilus 40 Pilothouse, built by Aztec Yachts after a C&C designed hull, may be one of the rare exceptions to the rule!  With her finely crafted teak joinery - coupled with a bright and spacious pilothouse and other living spaces - the Nautilus 40 certainly ranks tops in comfort-measures among yachts in this size-range.  And, with a provenance drawn from C&C's recognized reputation for performance, few would question her upwind (and offwind) creds!

With her custom interior layout, and constant maintenance and upgrading by a very knowledgeable yachtsman, CAURUS is truly a standout example of this remarkable design.

SURVEYOR COMMENTS

The owner recently hired a surveyor to perform a "brief overview" inspection of hull and deck fundamentals, etc.  While CAURUS shows some "normal old-boat" condition issues, the surveyor concluded:

"...it appeared overall that the vessel has received above average care throughout its life. Considerable new wiring was observed, and in general the vessel appeared in good serviceable condition. (The findings are) routine for a vessel of this caliber and age. The fundamental structure of the vessel appears sound and generally above average."
