- "Mid-vintage" Sabre (the best model-years...)
The Sabre 38 MKII is well known for her combination of excellent sailing abilities AND comfortable cruising amenities (along with durable/quality construction and exquisite appointments) -- and not to mention classic good looks! She is set up to sleep seven with two separate sleeping cabins with a large open salon, functional galley and large nav station. The keel/centerboard configuration offers the best of both worlds - of cruising versatility coupled with upwind and downwind performance.
With her extensive/continual upgrading and meticulous caretaking, SABRENA stands out among the many Sabres currently afloat. As such, she represents a superb opportunity to own a beautiful classic American cruising boat that is well maintained, fast, and fun to sail. Sailed during short seasons in freshwater on the Great Lakes - and on the Chesapeake Bay (brackish water) since 2014 - SABRENA’s (Chesapeake) racing accolades include top finishes in the Governor’s Cup and Screwpile Cruising-Class. Shorthanded sail-handling is simplified via the Dutchman mainsail flaking system - and a Harken genoa furler (with genoa-sheeting to oversized self-tailing primary winches).

SABRENA’s interior is finished with satin finished teak with teak battens and a satin teak and holly cabin sole finished to support footing/grip underway. The warm, open interior shows off her Maine artisanship and is laid out with forward and aft sleeping cabins and a big main salon, which includes the galley, nav station, dinette and settee and a large head placed sensibly aft. The main salon can accommodate a sizeable teak dinning table, or easily converted to a lounging settee. SABRENA includes a Lagun multi-pivot folding varnished table in the cabin as an alternative to the dinette table.
Large overhead opening hatches and opening portlights provide abundant natural light and ventilation and a Cruisair air-conditioning/heat extends the sailing season with a warm, cozy interior. The berths are upholstered in a marine patterned navy blue.
Opening portlights have bug screens and sun screen in fwd Hatch
