Growing up in South Jersey, Bill fished and sailed the Jersey shores from Cape May to Atlantic City. While cruising and racing with his family on a 1973 Tartan 41, Bill developed a passion for all things nautical. Now a 35 year veteran of the marine industry, Bill has worked as a sailmaker, sales manager, yacht broker, project manager and professional sailor. As sailmaker for 25 years, Bill developed a depth of knowledge and experience across a multitude of racing, cruising and blue-water yachts. Bill has sailed the East Coast from Newfoundland to the Caribbean, the Great Lakes, the Pacific Northwest, the Mediterranean, Australia and has made a number of Atlantic crossings. A long time racer and professional sailor, he has competed at the highest levels of the sport. After living aboard various yachts for 8 years as a family of four, they have a unique and helpful perspective on family cruising, the live-aboard lifestyle, and passage making. Dave is a long-term live-aboard here in Annapolis. He has been involved with boating, whether power or sail, for over 50 years. He has cruised and sailed from New England to Florida and throughout the Caribbean. Dave has lived near the Chesapeake Bay most of his life and has restored several wooden and fiberglass boats. He enjoys offshore sailing and scuba diving in his spare time. After a long sales, marketing and management career, Dave decided it was time for a lifestyle change. He moved aboard in the Spring of 2004 and began a new career in yacht brokering. Dave works hard and applies his live-aboard and cruising knowledge to make each and every one of his customers’ boat buying or selling experience a pleasant and educational one.

Denise Hanna is a Certified Professional Yacht Broker who has been in the yacht sales industry since 1995. Her journey into the world of yachting began on Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos, where she first set sail on her grandfather’s sailboat at the age of three. This connection deepened through a formative sailing experience in the Bahamas during her college years. She moved to Annapolis in 1992 after graduating from the University of Maryland and worked for a few years in the medical software field before joining the yacht industry, which is her passion.  

Denise’s professional ethos centers on a profound commitment to her clients, extending far beyond the transactional aspects of yacht sales. Her ability to forge genuine connections has turned clients into lifelong friends and has made her a favored yacht consultant among boating enthusiasts. That passion connects her to the professional community as well, as she is currently a Board Member for the Yacht Broker Association of America. In addition to being a catamaran specialist and having won a number of awards throughout her career, Denise has also represented many brands over the years, including Taswell, Valiant, Tartan, Sabre, Beneteau, Lagoon, Jeanneau, Dufour, Fountaine Pajot and was the National Sales Manager for Beneteau Sailboats from 2012 to 2014.

Matt Weimer is a seasoned marine professional with over 30 years of experience spanning nearly every corner of the boating industry—from delivery captain and private yacht skipper to sailing instructor, commercial marine sales, and deck utility on tugboats. Since 2019, he has been a full-time yacht broker, combining hands-on expertise with deep market knowledge to help clients confidently buy and sell both power and sail vessels.

A native of Annapolis, Matt grew up sailing the Chesapeake Bay and earned his degree in Business Communications from the College of Charleston in 1996, where he also sailed competitively. His boating resume includes offshore miles across the U.S., Caribbean, and Europe, and he continues to stay closely connected to the water and the lifestyle that surrounds it.

Matt holds a U.S. Coast Guard 100-Ton Master’s License and is a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB). In 2018, he was honored with the Eastport Yacht Club Foundation’s Outstanding Marine Wizard Award for his service and contributions to the maritime community.

What sets Matt apart is his commitment to customer satisfaction and lasting relationships. He is known for being responsive 24/7 and is most proud of the referrals he receives from satisfied clients—testament to the trust he builds with every transaction.

Outside of work, Matt is an avid scuba diver, snow skier, and adventure motorcyclist. He lives in Crownsville, Maryland with his wife Denise, their two daughters, and their dog, Indy. Rod has been a yacht broker in Annapolis for over 40 years and has witnessed many changes over the years. An avid sailor since childhood, he has cruised and raced extensively on the Chesapeake and offshore. His diligence, as well as his business and boating experience, inspire the trust of his many loyal clients who often refer their friends and family members to him.

Many “industry insiders” have chosen Rod as their Yacht Broker, for their own yacht purchase or sale. Active for many years with YBAA, the Yacht Brokers Association of America: www.ybaa.org. Originally elected to the YBAA Board of Directors in 2003, he has served in many roles in pursuit of raising the standards of professionalism in the Yacht Brokerage arena.

In 2006 and 2007, as Chair of the Professional Education Committee he was instrumental in producing “The Guide,” the Yacht Brokerage Industry’s first ever training manual for professional practices. Rod has also been involved over the years in other YBAA projects, including many revisions of YBAA’s standard purchase and listing forms, which are widely used throughout the Yacht Brokerage industry.

Because of his expertise and experience, Rod is often sought out for his counsel by leaders in “allied industries” regarding policy issues, as well as by fellow brokers throughout North America when they encounter problems with their transactions. Rod has two grown “children,” both of whom have worked with him in the industry in the past before moving on to other careers. They still occasionally find time to sail with their dad. He also enjoys hiking, mountaineering, and dancing.

Rod holds a BA from Johns Hopkins and an MBA with honors from George Mason University.
