1971 Feadship 101

Los Suenos, $0

DESCRIPTION

The 1971 101’ Feadship “Passage” represents a rare opportunity to own a classic Feadship that has benefited from a comprehensive, no-expense-spared refit. Built at the renowned De Vries shipyard and designed by De Voogt Naval Architects, she carries the unmistakable lines and pedigree that define the brand, elevated by the scale and quality of her recent transformation.

Under current ownership, this 101’ Feadship was taken down to her core and completely refit in 2025 with a level of detail and oversight that is increasingly rare. Led by Bill Royster, a seasoned yachtsman with over 30,000 miles at command at sea, the project reflects both deep experience and a genuine passion for the water. His hands-on approach and attention to detail ensured the yacht’s classic Feadship lines were carefully preserved while incorporating meaningful modern advancements, resulting in a yacht that balances timeless design with enhanced comfort, performance, and long-term reliability.

Major work was completed across her mechanical systems, structure, and interior spaces, including the full renewal of electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, and navigation systems. Her engines have been rebuilt to zero hours and generators replaced, providing a dependable and refreshed machinery platform. The hull was fully inspected, sandblasted, and refinished, complemented by new teak decks and modern electronics throughout.

One of the most significant transformations took place aft, where the original sportfishing cockpit was reimagined into an extended aft deck, dramatically increasing usable outdoor space. Beneath, a fully engineered, climate-controlled lazarette was created to house critical systems, including dual Seakeeper units, relocated air conditioning chillers, and a water maker.

This configuration is exceptionally rare for a yacht of this size and vintage. The Feadship retains her original factory fin stabilizers, now complemented by the addition of a Seakeeper 35 and Seakeeper 26 resulting in a highly refined stabilization setup. The dedicated, climate-controlled environment further supports long-term reliability and performance of these systems.

Inside, the yacht reflects traditional craftsmanship, with rich satin cherry wood, melamine - tongue and groove overheads, teak and holly floors, and finely detailed high-gloss teak joinery creating a warm, balanced feel throughout. Expansive salon windows fill the space with natural light and uninterrupted water views, enhancing the main living area’s open, inviting flow.

The galley has been thoughtfully reconfigured into an open “country kitchen” layout, transforming what was once a more formal, enclosed service space into a central, social hub on the main deck. Outfitted with updated, high-end appliances, including a Bosch cooktop and oven, dual drawer-style refrigeration, ice maker, and dishwasher and finished with premium porcelain surfaces, it now flows seamlessly into the salon and forward dining area enhancing both everyday use and onboard entertaining. Its central location also provides easy access to both guest and crew areas, improving functionality for extended cruising or charter use.

The formal dining area comfortably seats eight with dedicated storage for glassware, china, and service, well suited for onboard entertaining. Accommodations for eight guests, including a full-beam master and two spacious guest staterooms are complemented by separate crew quarters for up to four, allowing for privacy and a high level of service underway.

Beyond the yacht itself, “Passage” offers a unique ownership advantage. She comes with the rare opportunity to lease her current slip in Los Sueños Marina and is fully legal for charter they're allowing you to enjoy her privately, place her into a charter program, or both from day one.

If you appreciate the heritage of a Feadship but want the confidence of a thoroughly modernized motor yacht, “Passage” stands apart, an iconic Feadship MY, thoughtfully restored and ready to be enjoyed from day one.

On deck, she delivers the experience expected of a yacht of this pedigree. Teak-laid walkaround decks provide safe, easy movement, while the extended aft deck is now ideally suited for outdoor dining and entertaining. The upper deck offers multiple seating areas in sun and shade beneath dual Bimini tops, along with a fully equipped helm station and dedicated space for a Zodiac tender. Underway, she cruises comfortably at 10 knots with a top speed of 13 knots, powered by twin 460hp Caterpillar diesel engines and offering an estimated 2,500 nautical mile range.

FULL DETAILS

description

“Passage” is of steel construction, with an aluminum superstructure. The H.W. DeVoogt hull design features a sharp entry bow and substantial keel. Main longitudinal stringers run from the transom forward, disappearing in the bow, and act as engine beds in the engine room. There are additional longitudinal and transverse members as needed. She has transverse structural bulkheads fully tabbed around the perimeter.

She carries 4400 gallons(17,411 Liters) of diesel in four (4) steel fuel tanks with a 2,500 nautical mile range, 2000 gallons (7,570liters) of fresh water in one (1) steel tank, two (2) steel grey water tanks, and (1) steel black water tank.

refit

Nothing was left untouched.

All frames and plates were sounded, inspected, and replaced as necessary. The entire exterior and interior hull were sandblasted, primed, and painted. The exterior hull received two (2) coats of Hempel primer and two (2) coats of Hempel black bottom paint.

Underwater running gear, including bow thruster blades, propellers, and shafts—was treated with PropSpeed. A stainless steel-supported, teak-covered swim platform was installed on the transom.

Original sportfishing cockpit redesigned to extend the aft deck while creating a climate control

Lazarette underneath to house the addition of two seakeepers (Sk26 +Sk35) to complement the

original factory fins stabilization and house the relocation of critical equipment like the A/C Chillers

and water-maker.

All teak decks were replaced on all exterior decks. All tanks were cleaned and inspected. All running gear removed and rectified to include the stabilizer fins. All hydraulic systems, electrical systems, plumbing, pumps, and firefighting systems were renewed. All toilets were replaced with Headhunter units. A new bow thruster motor was installed.

All electronics, AV and sound systems were replaced. All wall switches and outlets were upgraded to Zimar brand. All new LED lighting and underwater lights were installed throughout.

The interior was fully renewed, including teak and holly flooring, carpets, stone surfaces, overheads, soft goods, walls, cabinetry, countertops, mattresses, appliances, toilets, faucets, shower doors, shower fixtures, furniture, and windows (removed and resealed).

Galley reconfigured to an open Country Kitchen layout.
