The model began life in 1993 as the Mayotte 470 and was refined under Voyage Yachts from 1994 onward, with further development from Tom Lubbe in consultation with Simonis. The modern Voyage 500 has been in continuous production since 1996 and is regarded as one of the most capable and practical cruising catamarans in its class.
