The shoal-draft bulb keel (4’ 9”) allows access to shallower anchorages along the ICW, Chesapeake, andBahamas while maintaining balanced tracking and stiffness.With the in-mast furling main and roller-furling jib,sail management is straightforward and safe from the cockpit and she is rigged for single hand sailing from the cockpit.
Balanced helm and large rudder provide precisecontrol under sail or power. Big gust? No problem, the 423 digs in and stays on course.

When cruising, you accumulate a lot of backups. These are in addition to all the other items already listed.
• 44 lb Spade anchor with chain and rode. This is in addition to the 66 lb Spade anchor with 90 ft of 3/8BBB chain at the bow.
• 50 amp to 30 amp adapter (for when you’re in a big boat marina that has no 30 amp outputs)
• 30 amp to 120 volt adapter (for when you’re on the hard and need power to the boat)
• 50 foot 30 amp shore line
• 25 foot 30 amp shore line (both are in addition to the 75 ft 30 amp shore line you saw in the photos, presently being used)
• No seeums screens installed on all overhead ports that swing out of the way when opening a hatch.
• Spare house water supply pump
• Assorted Volvo D2-55 spares (oil and fuel filters, zincs, engine belts, etc.)
• Assorted spares for Kohler Genset (oil and fuel filters, zincs, etc.)
• USCG approved Coast Guard flare replacement (flasher) No more outdated flares to dispose of.
• Handheld remote control for autopilot, wired.
• Anchor step switches (up/down), an aftermarket add. Beneteau just supplied a handheld control, which was awkward to use when handling the chain and rode on the bow.
• Anchor up/down switch installed on helm pedestal. Handy when short of crew since the anchor can be dropped from the helm.
• Washdown pump for cleaning the chain of mud
• Reinforced Inflatable fender, 5 ft by 10 inches for extra protection in hurricanes. Four Taylor 10 inch fenders are supplied with the boat.
• Two spare halyards were added to the top of the mast for use in climbing the mast. Both would be attached to the climber, one for hoisting and one for safety. This is in addition to the topping lift, which could have been used for the same purpose. I wanted spares.
• A webbed climbing ladder with sail slides that go into the spare sail track up the mast. The sail slides hold the webbed climbing ladder against the mast for stability.
• LED mast light, replacing the 12v lamp supplied by Beneteau.
• In addition to four Coast Guard-approved life vests, there are two Coast Guard-approved inflatable life vests also supplied
• LED flood light for the swim platform was added with a switch at the helm. This is very handy whentaking pets ashore after daylight saving time ends in the fall. It floods the aft of the boat with light.
• Updated Teak replacement on the swim platform and swim ladder
• TV antenna with amplifier is mounted over the radome. You will typically get 100 stations at most marinas except in the Keys.
• 32 32-inch LED TV is mounted in the salon, powered by the TV antenna cited above or via the internet with an Amazon Fire TV adapter - or any other adapter.
• A vacuum oil pumpout canister is supplied for changing oil in the D2-55 Volvo and Genset.
• Various tools can be left if desired that are specific to working on the Volvo and Genset.
• A fuel cut-off switch was installed for easy fuel filter changes. The original primary fuel filter was replaced with a much larger capacity one, which is easier to change filters.
• A new prop shaft was installed by Zimmerman, along with a new coupling, and the shaft output hole (near propeller) was rebedded and tuned true, also by Zimmerman.
• Flex-O-Fold prop excelled in both forward and reverse. Folds up for sailing automatically for the least drag.
Cruising speeds 7.3 kts at 2300 rpm.
• 15 gallon hot water tank installed (Beneteau of this size now comes with only 6 gallons of hot water)
• 2000 watt inverter installed new
• Floating winch handle in cockpit in addition to Beneteau Beneteau-supplied winch handle.
• 6kw Kohler Genset (which you know about)
