BATESEA is the kind of Oceanis 46.1 that separates itself immediately—because she isn’t just a lightly-used production cruiser, she’s been equipped like a self-sufficient Caribbean liveaboard with the “big-ticket” systems already handled. USA-built and purchased new in 2020, Hull #47 delivers a rare combination of modern performance, huge interior volume (thanks to the stepped hull), and the sort of practical, confidence-inspiring outfitting that lets you anchor longer, travel farther, and rely less on marinas.
Since, owners have sailed from East Coast to Caribbean and been living the dream. Island hoping, occasionaly accompanied by family and friends, they've discovered and enjoyed the diversity of the Caribbean islands.
On deck, the setup is purpose-built for real cruising: a strong solar arch with integrated dinghy davits, a full dodger/bimini with removable side panels, cockpit enclosure, and an electric opening swim platform that turns the transom into your beach club—perfect for the Caribbean rhythm of swim, rinse, explore, repeat. The shoal keel keeps your itinerary wide open (from tight lagoons to skinny anchorages), while smart sail handling features—like in-mast furling and power winches—keep her genuinely easy to run short-handed.
Below, BATESEA feels bright, tall, and upscale—yet it’s clearly been set up to live aboard comfortably. Three independent A/C zones with reverse heat, LED indirect lighting, and a practical galley make the boat feel more “mini-yacht” than “charter standard.” Add the generator, watermaker, washing machine, and a serious lithium/solar package, and you’ve got a platform that’s ready to leave the dock and stay out—without compromise.

REVIEWS
"The Oceanis 46.1 is a perfect balance between elegance, performance, and ease of handling." - Sail Magazine
Manufacturer Provided Description
The Oceanis 46 boasts all the features of a large cruising yacht, with a rare balance between elegance, usable space and performance. Her stepped hull opens up an incredible amount of space inside and yet her seakeeping performance is still impressive. A large number of clever customizable fittings make her easy to sail and pleasantly comfortable.
The Oceanis 46.1 is based on a Finot-Conq plan, keeping the distinctive stepped hull of the 51.1. Apart from her performance at sea and the huge amount of space that set this boat apart, this architecture makes optimal use of the cockpit beam. An incredibly efficient deck plan makes her wonderfully safe and easy to use. The furling mast, self-tailing jib and all the halyards and sheets brought back to a single winch at each of the helm stations, make manoeuvring simple when short-handed sailing.
