Hull and Deck Construction

Post has been building yachts since 1957, starting in wood construction and then moving to fiberglass for lower maintenance.

In moving to fiberglass they have never adopted the modular unit drop-ins with tabbing.  Rather Post has maintained traditional interior construction after the hand-laid hull is completed.  Bulkheads are built in followed by interior unit such as bunks, beds using the "Stick-Built" process of solid wood framing screwed into the boat followed by individual items being attached such as cabinets, beds etc.

Notice the doors, lockers, hatches don't stick and bind.  This is due to the strong hull construction and the renowned "Stick Construction" method.

Interior

The Post 43 has a 2 stateroom layout.  An island queen bed forward with great hanging lockers port and starboard, drawers below the bed and 2 side lamps at the head of the queen bed.

The second cabin has over-under single bunks good lighting, hanging locker on the Starboard side.  Great for kids or guest staying on-board.

The galley is on the port side.  Full size refrigerator, 3 burner cook top, lots of counter space plus cabinets and drawers.

Across from the galley is the dry head with a shower and shower door keeping the rest of the head dry.  Sink and mirror with cabinets below the sink.  Again, great lighting and ventilation.

Going up 3 steps to the main deck salon, there is an L shaped seating/dining area, a large off-center entertainment center with loads of cabinets and a TV mounted in the center.

Across from the L shaped seating is an open wall for adding your favorite furnishing to complete the salon area and making it your own.

Cockpit

The 1984 cockpit is larger than the previous 1975-1983 models.

She has teak coaming rails, centered transom door with a fold up teak rail for easy but safe access down to the teak swim platform.

A molded tackle center, fish cleaning station with sink and cabinetry.  This also includes built in steps to the fly bridge ladder making it very easy and safe to go up to the fly bridge.  Multiple built in rod holders in the teak top rail on the port, center and starboard cockpit rails.  2 opening stowage compartments in the cockpit floor for quick and easy access under way.  An electric Weber Grill with cover.

A great cockpit for serious fishing and entertaining.

Fly Bridge

With easy access from the cockpit up to the fly bridge, this is the place to go for great views, fish spotting, and skippering the yacht.

There are full controls for the engines, Raymarine electronics, Array Radar System with port and starboard mount GPS antennas for the Garmin 4208 Chart Plotter, Horizon VHF, a Robertson auto pilot, engine monitoring gauge systems and Danforth compass

The fly bridge has a full hardtop over the fly bridge helm and seating with isinglass front panels that zip open.  Forward of the helm station is a seating bench for 3-4 people, allowing guest and crew to keep the captain company on the bridge.

Forward Deck Area

The forward deck is huge and open with an easy walk forward from the cockpit on wide side decks leading to lots of room to layout and enjoy the weather.  Forward is the Ideal electric windlass mounted on a teak platform along with a bow roller with a Danforth anchor for easy anchoring and retrieving.  3 opening hatches for great ventilation and light below.

Full bow pulpit running aft to tall stanchions and lifelines to the teak step ladder going back down into the cockpit.

Engines

Twin Detroit 6-71TI Diesel Engines

450 Horsepower Each

994 Hours on the Engines

2 x 250 gallon diesel SS tanks

Westerbeke Generator aft, centered.

Access to engines is in the Salon Floor panels.
